Meet Our Team

Dr. McKinley (Mac) Hendrix

Dr. Mac Hendrix was born and raised in Hartselle, Alabama, and graduated from Hartselle High School in 2010. While at Hartselle, Dr. Hendrix played both baseball and football and was a part of the 2009 and 2010 state championship and state runner-up baseball teams.

Following high school, Dr. Hendrix attended the University of Alabama, majoring in chemical engineering. Throughout his tenure at Alabama, Dr. Hendrix was involved with Cru, where he led worship and was involved with multiple local and overseas mission trips.

After his undergrad education at Alabama, Dr. Hendrix attended dental school at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry. While in dental school, he was elected by his classmates to serve as class president all four years. He graduated from there in 2018.

Dr. Hendrix decided to further his education by attending a residency in general practice at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. During this residency, Dr. Hendrix received advanced training in oral surgery, dental implants and endodontics, along with aspects of general dentistry such as crowns, bridges and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Hendrix continues his involvement with academics as an associate professor at UAB. He instructs third and fourth year dental students in their clinical training. Dr. Hendrix also volunteers at the Community Free Clinic of Morgan County and serves as the President of the Hartselle Baseball Booster Club.

Dr. Hendrix is married to his wonderful wife, Emily, and they have two daughters and a son. Together they enjoy hiking, good food, playing with their kids, and Alabama football. They are members of First Bible Church in Decatur where they teach in the student ministry. They love getting to live and serve in the Hartselle community!

Born and raised in Hartselle, Dr. Mac is excited to be serving the community in which he grew up. We are pleased to offer the fresh expertise and energy that Dr. Mac brings with him!

Sarah Turrentine, Office Manager

Sarah was born and raised in Hartselle and has been in the dental field for over 10 years. Her favorite part about her job is that she gets to interact with so many wonderful people. When she’s not doing dentistry, she enjoys riding horses and spending time with her family!

Christen Murphy, Hygienist

While not originally from Hartselle, Christen loves working and serving the Hartselle community. While she truly loves cleaning people’s teeth and would consider that her main hobby, her other hobbies include watching her sons at the ball park and going to the beach.

Brittany Nowlin, Assistant

Brittany is Dr. Mac’s chairside assistant, helping with anything from root canals to placing implants and everything in between. An interesting fact about Brittany is that she has worked in the past as a chef and as a barber. When she’s not at the office she is spending time with her husband and daughter.

Lexi Ferguson, Front Office

Lexi is who is greeting you when you walk in our office or call us on the phone. She keeps our team and our patients in good moods with her contagious sense of humor. If she’s not at work, you can find her riding in her jeep.

Jennelle Hembree, Hygienist

If you don’t know Jennelle before your appointment, you will feel like family by the time you leave. And if you talk to her long enough, you will likely find out that you actually are family. Patients love how personable and fun Jennelle is. When Jennelle isn’t at work, she is watching her grandson play baseball for Alabama! Roll Tide.
